Irene's Secret Tips, Products, and Interviews Geared Towards Showing Adolescent Girls How to Thrive and Excel in Our Cultural Times!

The Importance of Living Deeply

Posted on: March 19, 2010

It is so easy for all of us to get caught
up in the hurried flow of life. When we do,
we run the risk of skimming over the more
               meaningful moments and opportunities that
would allow us to experience our lives
in their complete richness and fullness.
Adolescence comes and goes so fast. Our
daughters grow up so fast.  Therefore, it
is important for us to take the time to be
genuine with our daughters. These will be
special times for us and for our daughters
               as well.
After all, at the end of our lives, it will
not be how much we got done, how many ‘to do’
lists we got through, or how much money
we accumulated that will matter. What will
be important will be the depth to which we
lived our own lives and the extent to which
we positively impacted the lives of others.
This is what gives life meaning.
One important way to live life deeply is to
               share meals together. Preparing meals
together is such a powerful symbolic
connection. It is how we nurture one
another, how we surprise and please, how
we survive, how we give the gift of life
               each and every day.
So, invite your daughter into the kitchen
and have some grounding time with your
daughter. It is one of the best ways to
               live deeply.
