Irene's Secret Tips, Products, and Interviews Geared Towards Showing Adolescent Girls How to Thrive and Excel in Our Cultural Times!

Avoid Comparing Yourself to Your Peers

Posted on: June 8, 2010

Adolescent girls are always comparing themselves
to other girls, whether they be siblings, friends or
peers. It seems that girls never feel that they could
quite measure up. But this is a really difficult way
to live and your self-esteem suffers greatly as a
            result as well.
It is important for girls to know in their hearts and
beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are unique as
they are. They should never feel so compromised that
they would compare themselves to other girls.
Girls have to remember that each of us are unique. No
one is like you. More specifically, no other girl
can have the same mind, body, or spirit. You are
one of a kind, stamped with authenticity and a grace
of your own. You were made in the image of God
And no one can take that away from you.
            Not now or ever.
Comparison can put a real curse on your life. When
you continuously compare yourself to other girls,
you are saying that you aren’t good enough. And that
is to put down God’s creation which is wrong and
demeaning to not only you but to your creator too.
So, the next time you start comparing yourself to
someone else, remember that your uniqueness speaks
for itself in making you the best possible person
            that you could be.
So, take the time today to celebrate yourself.
            You are definitely worth it!
